Major Road Closures or Reductions 10/31-11/2

What to expect with the southbound I-5 lane reductions this weekend:

 

  • Crews will close the two left lanes of southbound I-5 from about the Northeast 45th Street/Northeast 50th Street off-ramp to the SR 520 Interchange beginning as early as 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 and reopen the lanes by 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.
  • The express lanes will operate southbound-only 24 hours a day for the full duration of the weekend. The express lanes are open to all, but please observe all posted signage as some ramps are HOV-only. There are also vehicle height restrictions in the express lanes.
  • The express lanes will not reverse to northbound as they typically do in the afternoon and may cause additional northbound traffic delays on I-5.

 

Be advised of additional regional road closures:

 

I-405

  • Southbound I-405 will be closed from North Southport Drive/Sunset Boulevard Northeast to State Route 167 from 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 to 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 for a traffic switch and other construction activities, as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. A signed detour route will be in place.
  • Up to three lanes of northbound I-405 will close nightly between Northeast 124th Street and Northeast 160th Street from 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, to 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, then from 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, and again at 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, for a traffic switch and other construction activities as part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project.
  • The I-405 closures will be rescheduled if it’s too rainy.

 

I-90 maintenance
Westbound I-90 will be closed from Mercer Island to Seattle at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 until 6 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 for overnight maintenance.
