Night Owls: westbound SR 520 to close overnight, this week and next
Over the next week, crews plan to complete a few more sections of the roadway surface for the new West Approach Bridge North (WABN). To access the easternmost roadway sections closest to the floating bridge, crews will close all westbound SR 520 lanes and ramps between 92nd Avenue Northeast and Montlake Boulevard from:
• 11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29
• 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, to 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30
• 11 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4
• From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday night, crews will funnel traffic down to one lane on the floating bridge to prep for the concrete pours.
The bicycle and pedestrian path on the bridge will also be closed.
Late-night and early-morning travelers should plan to take alternate routes across I-90 or around Lake Washington to reach Seattle from the Eastside.
This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled or postponed. Stay up-to-date on closure activities by visiting our SR 520 Orange Page and following our SR 520 Twitter feed.
